When Helena first mentioned to me that she was spending her vacation at the Four Seasons Resort on Paradise Island, I knew the perfect location at the hotel for Day 1 of her personalized model portfolio shoot. The infinity pool overlooking Paradise Island beach has a spectacular view of the Bahamas ocean.
We met at Dune a day before the photoshoot to discuss the creative direction and ideas for the images Helena wanted me to capture while she was visiting the Bahamas. After going through our ideas and quick wardrobe consult, we confirmed a time to meet back at the hotel the following day.
We chose two swimsuits currently trending for Helena to wear in the photos. One was a modern black one-piece swimsuit and the other neon pink with a zipper on the front. The neon swimwear popped precisely as we had hoped against the vibrant colors of the hotel’s infinity pool and blue sky.
We were able to capture reflections in the pool before the breeze picked up. When it did, we ended up with a rippled effect which I loved nearly as much as the glassy smooth surface. With a little extra editing in photoshop, I was able to make them more prominent in the photos. I am constantly looking out for reflections during a photoshoot.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of Helena’s photoshoot, Tropical vibes coming up next!
